Does Stella do commissions?

Stella loves to create bespoke works for her collectors! If you have a project in mind please get in touch and let us know more, we will then be able to give you an idea of timeframes and cost.

What is the difference between a commission, original and print and how do I choose?

Commissions are requests for personalised artwork from and created for you. If you have a specific idea that you would like Stella to recreate, that is what you need.

All originals are unique paintings, handmade by Stella in her studio. Each is unique. If you are looking for beautiful, original art - this is the way to go!

Prints are reproductions of original artworks. The original painting is scanned in super high resolution and then recreated using a technique known as giclee. All prints come with a unique edition number and a certificate of authenticity.
A print is a good choice to get some beautiful art on your walls without spending more money than works for you!

How does my order come packaged?

We carefully package and send out giclee prints in a rigid envelope along with an envelope stiffener for all print sizes up to and including A3.
Giclee print sizes larger than A3 are sent out in wide 100mm diameter tubes.

Originals:
Original paintings are shipped in their frames with protective corners, tissue wrapping, layers of packing peanuts, cardboard stiffening sheets and a double skinned cardboard box, keeping your original nice and safe.

What about the environment?

As much of our packaging as possible has been chosen with the environment in mind, using either recycled materials or easily compostable items. We also recycle old packaging where possible, so if you see something that looks less eco-friendly in your package, it's because we insist on reusing everything we can. The greenest solution is always using something that already exists!

With this in mind, we also sell test prints, seconds and experimental pieces on our instagram. We hate waste! Check our instagram regularly for news of flash sales.

We also shop local for suppliers and endeavour to support other small businesses at every step of our process.

What about customs and taxes?
All UK orders include local duties and taxes. Delivery to locations outside of these areas is not inclusive of additional fees, so please check with your local authority before ordering.

Can I return my order?

Damage: Email us immediately and we’ll tell you what to do next. We can only help if you let us know about the damage within 10 days of delivery and we receive the damaged item within 14 days.

If you purchased artwork and for unforeseen circumstances you do not wish to keep it, you must explain your reasons honestly. It is at our discretion to decide if the request of a return is approved. Return requests must be made within 14 days after receiving your piece.

If you have questions email us at info@stellazuegelart.com.

How do you suggest I frame my prints?

Good that you ask; framing is so, so important and luckily there is an option for everyone. Essentially there are three ways to frame your prints; expensive £££, cheaper £££ or ££.

Expensive £££
Go and find a fine art framer in your area, take in the print, choose a mount colour (this is important as there are many different shades of white) and a frame colour and material. Once decided, the framer will do the rest for you.

Cheaper £££
If you are lucky, there is a cheaper framer in your area, so have a look online and you may even get bespoke framing for less than the expensive £££. Alternatively, if there is no cheap framer you can go to in person, there are online framing companies where you can order bespoke frames online and can mount the print yourself. Just make sure you choose the mount colour intentionally instead of just picking the default.

££
For good quality, non expensive frames in the UK we recommend Habitat frames (https://www.habitat.co.uk). They don’t have all the sizes but often you can make their sizes work with a bespoke mount which you can order from a company that specialises in mounts (like https://www.frithandcompany.co.uk in the UK). Here is an example of our Windows print in a bespoke frame (right) and a habitat frame with adjusted mount (left).
