I painted Windows 2.0 in memory of one of my earliest paintings, which I called ‘Fenster’ then (German for window), and which is hanging over the piano in my parents’ house. It is inspired by the feeling of safety, family and home and reminds me of drifting off into my own imagination at the age of 12, listing to my mama read to me whilst I was painting.

The original window (‘Fenster’) was my earliest study of lines, triangles and colour balance, after being given a postcard of Kandinsky’s ‘Yellow Red Blue’ which really inspired me as a 12 year old.
